Health Care Voices Founder Laura Packard on President Biden’s Executive Order on Continuing to Strengthen Americans’ Access to Affordable, Quality Health Coverage

WASHINGTON DC — On Tuesday, President Biden signed a new Executive Order to fix the “family glitch”, help more Americans enroll in quality health insurance coverage, improve the quality of coverage, and strengthen benefits under Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.

Health Care Voices Founder Laura Packard issued the following statement:

“This Executive Order is a victory for equitable, more inclusive access to high-quality, affordable health insurance.”

It was an honor to be present at the White House for the signing of the Order, and I am beyond proud to be a continued advocate for the further expansion of access to affordable care.”

“While this Order is a critical step in the Biden Administration’s efforts to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to millions of Americans, there is still a long road ahead. Nearly 4 million Americans are unable to afford health insurance because they live in one of the 12 states that refuse to adopt the ACA expansion of Medicaid. Millions more continue to struggle to obtain the care they need, due to the high costs of care. This executive order is a step forward, but the work continues.”

Laura Packard is the founder of Health Care Voices, executive director of Health Care Voter, advisor to Unrig Our Economy, and a stage-4 cancer survivor. The Affordable Care Act saved her life. She hosts Care Talk, a call-in health care show on act.tv to answer America’s health insurance questions about the ACA, Medicare and Medicaid (airing Mondays at 4:30pm ET)., If you’d like to discuss President Biden’s Executive Order on continuing to strengthen Americans’ access to affordable health coverage, please reach out to ben.cook@firesidecampaigns.com.
